Your Pediatric Urgent Care Checklist

What to Expect During a Little Big Care Visit

When your child is sick, you do not have time to figure out confusing systems or wait for hours in a lobby.

At Little Big Care, we aim to make the process reassuring and straightforward from start to finish. Here is what you can expect when you schedule a mobile or in-office visit with our pediatric-trained team.

Step 1: Book Your Visit

Easily schedule a visit online. Choose what works best for your family:

  1. At-home visit: We come directly to your house.

  2. Hotel or rental visit: Ideal for traveling families.

  3. Office visit: See us at our Colorado Springs location.

  4. Telehealth visit: Connect with a pediatric provider through a secure video call.

Our flat visit fees are clearly listed, so you always know the cost before booking. Flat fee will cover any tests performed such as rapid strep, flu, and urine testing, along with medications given during the visit.

Step 2: Prepare for Your Appointment

Before the provider arrives or your telehealth visit begins, gather a few helpful items:

  • Your child’s medical history or current medications

  • Thermometer readings and recent symptoms

  • Any test results or notes from your pediatrician, if available

  • A calm, well-lit space for your child to be seen

If you are visiting from out of town, it helps to have your child’s insurance card or pharmacy information available for prescriptions.

Step 3: Meet Your Pediatric-Trained Provider

Every Little Big Care visit is led by a pediatric-trained provider who is experienced in caring for children from infancy through young adulthood. During the visit, your provider will:

  • Listen to your concerns and review your child’s symptoms

  • Perform a physical exam appropriate for the situation

  • Conduct rapid tests if needed, such as strep, flu, or urinalysis

  • Explain findings in clear, parent-friendly language

  • Recommend the safest next steps, including home care, prescriptions, or follow-up with your pediatrician

Because we focus only on children, our visits are calm, gentle, and designed to make kids feel at ease.

Step 4: Receive Treatment and Guidance

If your child’s condition can be treated during the visit, the provider may:

  • Provide in-office or at-home treatments such as breathing treatments or wound care

  • Offer prescriptions when appropriate

  • Explain exactly how to manage care at home

  • Advise when and how to contact your pediatrician for follow-up

If the provider believes your child needs non-emergent imaging or bloodwork, those will be ordered. If your child requires emergency care, they will explain why and guide you to the right facility.

Little Big Care never replaces your pediatrician or the ER. We partner with both to keep your child safe.

Step 5: Follow-Up for Peace of Mind

After the visit, our team sends a visit summary to your pediatrician.

Why Parents Choose Little Big Care

  1. Pediatric-specific care focused entirely on children

  2. Convenient options for home, hotel, or office visits

  3. Flat, transparent pricing with testing included

  4. Same-day availability and telehealth support

  5. Providers who understand how to comfort both kids and parents

Our goal is to help your child recover quickly and to give you peace of mind at every step.

When to Choose the ER Instead

ER is more appropriate for: severe injury, obvious broken bone or large wound, difficulty breathing (respiratory distress), severe abdominal pain, immediate need for imaging or bloodwork, fever in a newborn, suicidal or acute psychiatric crisis.

If you have an emergency, call 911.

Little Big Care is designed for non-emergency pediatric needs. If that is the safest choice, we will always guide you toward emergency care.
